Hmm, I think I did pretty well. it's good to be a vegan in NYC with enough disposable income to eat out. Lucky me can get most of these dishes within a few minutes walkign distance of my apartment or my office. A few pressing concerns have been brought to my attention though-- namely, a vegan baklava (been meaning to make this forever), gazpacho (seriosuly, how could I have never eaten this?) and a meal at Candle 79. I've been to pretty much every other NYC vegan restaurant, but somehow I've missed that one. Not on the UES too often I suppose.

If you make a vegan baklava, pleeeeeeeeeeze share a recipe! I mean, the honey's easiy subbed with agave nectar, but what's even in phyllo, and is it possible to make phyllo dough at home in a normal kitchen?
Can't say that I've been vegan long enough to try vegan versions of most of these things on this list (I've never even seen sheese in any of my health food stores), so I don't know if it's worth filling out, in my case. Perhaps I'll fill it out a little later.

Jillian, I must protest. I believe that you have had tacos -- or at least burritos -- from a street cart of sorts. 'Member when we saw that outdoor movie in Williamsburg? You bought us tacos and/or burritos from that stand. I think an outdoor stand counts as a street cart, even if it is run by burritoville.

Many of you have probably already seen The Sportsbook Vegan’s Hundred list. There are other ”Hundred” food memes circulating round the blogosphere (The Omnivore’s Hundred, which started the trend; and The Vegetarian’s Hundred). Generally these a little bit of fluff we bloggers can use a way of introducing ourselves. Jane and I don't usually bother with them (do you really care what movies we've seen recently, this is a vegan blog after all). online betting But I really like this list because it can inspire all of us to try new things.
A while back, Andrew of the foodie blog Very Good Taste, posted an article called the Omnivore's Hundred. The "Omnivore's 100" is a list of Andrew's interpretation of the 100 foods every omnivore needs to try.
march madness The list gathered a loyal following as bloggers and foodies everywhere began following Andrew's instructions to re-post the list and join in the challenge. He instructs everyone to cross out things they'd never eat and bold the foods they have already conquered. Fun right? Well as much as I loved the idea, as I began to read the food list I knew I couldn't participate. Venison, snake, goat's milk and haggis. Definitely NOT vegan-friendly.
